Monday’s two for one
For those of you that are huge fans of Tom Green and follow his website and myspace account closely, you would have heard about the upset that he had this weekend with the old footage from his days on MTV. After pleading with MTV for the money to have a custom desk created for him, he finally received the funds. The desk was worth $10,000.00…not exactly a small chunk of change. Shortly after having the desk on the set, he had Jesse James Dupree from Jackyl on as a guest…you know, Jesse James - the chainsaw- flinging- Dupree? Tom talked about this experience on his blog over the weekend. Seems like the commenters at www.break.com decided to bash Tom for getting so upset…granted, Tom has been known to pull some great tricks of “tomfoolery” himself, but what Jesse James Dupree did as a guest that day was, in my opinion, uncalled for. What’s your thoughts on how Jesse James was as a guest, and how Tom reacted? Would you have reacted the same way, or differently? I look forward to seeing what you all have to say!

DUDE…uh…what is that guy’s major malfunction? If I had a desk that cost 10 grand I would just lose it after some has been heavy metal guy trashed my desk. I think Tom was as mature and restrained as a sensible adult can be in that situation. I think that jesse was wrong and should understand the concept of that it just isn’t cool to destroy other people’s things. It is one thing(back when he was young between the ages of 2 to 17)to do dumb things like that. It is time to grow up and act like an adult.
It is bad enough particular music groups get bad reputations because of their involvement in crime,drugs,and being the village idiot. One person can ruin it for others. During the 80s and 90s,there were lawsuits by parents because they said heavy metal and hard rock were satanic influences on their kids. Times have changed but people generally remember what you did wrong rather than focusing on what you do that is right.
Sorry about your desk,Tom. I don’t think you were over reacting, I think jesse was overcompensating with a chainsaw gimic that has failed to get his band back on the map. I would of been upset as well if someone defaced and destroyed something I had to work hard for. Anyways, the past is just that,and you have a great show. You would never need a chainsaw to get attention or to be remembered by! Keep the good work up!
