Scott Thompson from Kids in the Hall and Tin Foil Special

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Hey hey gang! Happy Friday to everyone! :) Hope that you all had a great week, and that you are ready for the long weekend! :)

This week has been great over at Tom’s web-o-vision, even though he has been without guests. Seems like he really knows how to keep us entertained. I have learned that 1) it’s indeed the Year of the Mustache, and 2) that tin foil can not only be great for use with food preperations, but can double as a head adornment, too. Gotta be careful with that tin foil on the head…that crap can be radioactive! ;)

Guess what? Tonight, Scott Thompson from Kids in the Hall will be on Tom’s show tonight! Scott Thompson is truly hillarious, and I can’t help but wonder if he will participate in the [tag]Tin Foil Special [/tag} over at the channel….let’s all tune in and see! :)

Have a great weekend, everyone! Keep checking back for contest updates!!! It’ll be here VERY VERY soon! ;)

Until next time…cheers!

The debut of The Year of the Mustache single and video

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Happy Thursday, everyone!!

I hope that your week has been coming along great! We’re two days away from the weekend! I don’t know about you, but I have been loving Tom Green’s shows this week! Tonight, he debuted his “Year of the Mustache” single and video. I must admit that I loved the song, and the professional tin foil hat was a very nice touch. Check it out here:

So what is a woman to do when she does not have the doting mustache like the guys?? Any suggestions peeps? Oh well… I guess I can just enjoy the song, and laugh at those that look really goofy with a mustache. ;)

Keep checking back for contest updates! I am working on lining up additional supporters for the contest, and I want to bring you all the very best in prizes! I promise you all that it will be something great!!

Until tomorrow gang! Cheers!

Larry, Rex and Tom

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Happy hump day everyone!

Well, Tom is back and is in full swing! It is great to have Tom back, but I gotta admit that I miss seeing guests on his show. This week there will be no guests on the show, and Tom is going to be doing surprise shows. Last night, Tom had his fire crotch friend Larry on the show, and hsi bird Rex was in prime condition for the show last night! Check this clip out to see what I mean…

Is it just me, or does Larry look a hell of a lot scarrier than Chucky? I kinda think that Chucky was cute, but dang…Larry is just down right frightening. Reminds me of the old episodes of “Friday the 13th”. Remember those? You know, the tv show that was based on items that were cursed and being sold from an antique store? Anyone remember this?? I’m showing my age here! LOL

On the Tom Green news front, Tom will be taking off the entire month of October due to filming that he will be a part of in Canada. Don’t worry, though, gang…I’ll still be here every day, and Tom has said that he will do some live feed shows from time to time while he is away. I can’t wait to see Canada live!

Also, I know that there are a ton of you that stop by here, so please take the time to leave a comment and say hello! I would love to meet you all! Don’t forget that we’re still working on a few kinks with contest prizes, but I promise you that they will be great rewards ( I don’t lie, and wouldn’t let you all down!). Keep checking back!!

Until tomorrow gang! Cheers!

Xzibit and Tom Rap Flashback

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Happy Tuesday, gang!

I hope that everyone had a great Monday, and that you are all back to happiness and peace watching Tom again! I know that I am! ;) Last night, Tom was on the air showing videos that fans sent in. Sending in a video to Tom is easy! If you want to see what all it entails, stop by Tom Green’s blog and website. Here, you’ll be able to find everything that you need to know about submitting a video to Tom. Who knows, maybe Tom will use your material on his show!!

Alright, for those of you that love Xzibit ( a la [tag] “Pimp My Ride” [/tag) like I do, here’s a fun flashback from when Tom and X rapped. Although it is a great clip, you have been warned that there is some curse words flyin’ in this clip….word…

Check in tomorrow for a recap of today’s show! PLUS, don’t forget to leave your comments! I promise that we’ll have a contest up and running very soon! Check back!

Until tomorrow! Cheers!

He’s baaaaack!

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Happy Monday, gang! Today is indeed a GREAT Monday, because our boy, Tom Green , is back! Who would’ve thought that we could have survived the two long weeks without him? Thank god we’re back in the swing of things, now!

Although there isn’t an announcement as to who the guest will be at the time of this posting, it is sure to be a great one tonight! Some gret changes have been going on over in Tom land, and I wanted to share some of them with you all. First off, if you check out his blog, you’ll see that there was an article in the New York Times that gave rave reviews about Tom’s web shows. Here’s a copy of the article for those of you that may not have seen it :

Tom Green Works at Home (You Can Watch)

By JOE RHODES
LOS ANGELES

IT was 8 p.m., time for Tom Green’s live Internet talk show, the one he’s been doing from his living room five nights a week, more or less, for the last year, and as seems to happen more often than not, things were going horribly wrong.

The servers had been wonky all day, most likely the result of a late attempt to install high-definition video players onto his Web site, tomgreen.com. Rex Murphy, Mr. Green’s bright red and usually low-key parrot, was agitated and screeching in a corner. The audio feeds weren’t working, and the Video Toaster system, the heart of Mr. Green’s online operation, was down.

Worst of all, the guest hadn’t turned up. Norm MacDonald, the former “Saturday Night Live” Weekend Update anchor and an old buddy of Mr. Green’s from his hometown, Ottawa, was scheduled to appear, but no one had heard from him all day.

“I’m starting to think he’s not coming,” Mr. Green said at 8:15, clearly flustered. “I can guarantee you that this is probably my fault somehow.”

Most likely, yes. Mr. Green alone is responsible not just for being funny, interviewing guests and sparring with callers, but for nearly every aspect of the production of “Tom Green Live,” up to and including last-minute pet upheavals.

He does have a talent booker, two full-time technical assistants and a sponsorship agreement with an online distributor, but he is the one who does the lion’s share of the tinkering, tweaking and nonstop fretting that goes with running a talk show, even one that’s available only online.

There is a switch under his desk that turns on the lights, microphones, remote-control cameras and live stream on broadband Internet. He has managed to acquire that most sought-after of show business commodities — complete creative control. And the headaches that go with it.

“This is not like a television show where you’ve got 150 people, writers, prescripted interviews and everything put together so that everything’s guaranteed to go great,” he said, one eye on the clock. “It’s turned out to be quite a technically complex thing. I never thought I’d know this much about computers. So it’s an ongoing process. You figure out little things along the way, and slowly they start to work a little better.

“I know, if we go on tonight, I’m not going to do a perfect show,” he continued. “But it’ll be a little better than last night. And it’s not like there are 10 million people watching. But we’re trying to make this better for that day, maybe a year in the future, when there will be. And by that time maybe we’ll have figured things out.”

The viewership of the show, which returns with new episodes Aug. 27, might not be in the millions, but it is still a good size. Although only 5,000 to 10,000 people a night watch the live feeds on his online distributor, ManiaTV.com, 40,000 to 60,000 a day watch reruns. And 250,000 to 300,000 more view clips on sites like YouTube. (Viewership figures from Mr. Green’s Web site weren’t available.)

The site, which he calls “The Channel,” is not exactly a departure for Mr. Green, who started out broadcasting an Ottawa public-access show on Rogers Cable in 1994. He has been dabbling with computers since 1996, before his MTV talk show in 1999 gained him a national following.

MTV’s “Tom Green Show,” which featured his intentionally annoying man-on-the-street interviews and all manner of pre-“Jackass” pranks, led to lucrative commercial gigs, a guest-host appearance on “Saturday Night Live” and, in 2001, the film “Freddy Got Fingered,” which he wrote, directed and starred in. It received some scorchingly bad reviews, largely because of scenes involving unnatural acts with assorted animals living and dead.

In between he had a short-lived and tabloid-covered marriage to Drew Barrymore. He also endured a bout with testicular cancer, which he chronicled in an MTV special that Time magazine lauded as one of the best programs of 2001.

By then Mr. Green was living in Los Angeles and was, he acknowledges, somewhat overwhelmed by all the attention. And he was not sure what to do with himself or his career. “I found myself trying to work within the Los Angeles system,” he said. “I had an agent and a manager, which I still do, and going to meetings with networks about game shows and reality shows and projects that weren’t mine. It was fun, but it wasn’t what I’d set out to do.

“I really missed what I’d done on Rogers Cable, which was shooting and editing all my own stuff. A nightly talk show is what I’d always wanted, and I’d kind of gotten sidetracked.”

So he went back to concentrating on his Web site. He decided two years ago that, if it were technically feasible and economically viable, he’d be happiest doing his own show from his living room.

ManiaTV.com, a Denver-based broadband company, helped him do exactly that. ManiaTV made a deal with Mr. Green to build a television studio inside his home, installing more than $100,000 worth of equipment and providing him a broadband distribution network and sponsors. Archived shows are available for viewing or download on iTunes or elsewhere on the Web.

“Like any television network we bring distribution, an audience, production resources and a marketing machine, all the things that Tom did not have,” said Peter Clemente, ManiaTV’s chief marketing officer.

Although ManiaTV provided the initial financing and technical expertise and found the show’s corporate sponsor, Bud Light, Mr. Green insists he has complete autonomy and will end up owning the equipment and the show. Rather than rely on ManiaTV’s technicians, he has hired his own studio assistants and bought additional equipment, including a teleprompter and extra cameras on his own. That’s part of the reason that there are so many technical glitches.

“If I had, like, 10 people working on the show full time, I’d be able to do what I really want to do,” he said. “I don’t ever want it to look too slick, but I’d like it to look better than it does now.”

As it is, Mr. Green spends much of his on-air time complaining about things that go wrong, mics that don’t work, camera shots that are off-center, Skype video uplinks with callers that sputter out.

It is impossible to forget, even when there are network-worthy celebrity guests like Val Kilmer, Pamela Anderson and Andy Dick (whose only appearance after his much-publicized scuffle with Jon Lovitz was on Mr. Green’s show), that the program is essentially homemade. “I try to think of it as organized confusion,” he said. “I have the freedom to do anything I want. We could sit here in silence for an hour if we wanted. And it’s nice to know that no one can cancel me. Unless I cancel myself.”

At 8:20 Mr. Green’s doorbell rang. It was Mr. MacDonald, unaware that he was late. At 8:47, after the Video Toaster was finally fixed, the show went live. To make up for the late start, Mr. Green stayed on for extra time, drinking Bud Lights on camera until the show ended at 10:20.

“It seems like nobody knows what this is going to be,” Mr. MacDonald said later. “But I want to do something like this way more than I want to do anything that’s been offered to me on television. Television just seems like vaudeville to me. Nobody I know ever watches a sitcom, ever. It’s a dead medium.

“So I don’t know where this is going,” he said, “but I love that Tommy’s just trying to figure it out. It’s cool to watch him try.”

I think that it was a wonderful review, and I give credit to Mr. Rhodes for helping Tom out with advertising his website for him!

As I mentioned, there have been some changes ( no worries, they have all been positive!) that have been taking place over in Tomville. Aside from the great article in the New York Times, Tom sends out e-mails to those people that sign up for his e-mails at his website. I received an e-mail yesterday stating that his web show is no longer with Mania TV , and that he is venturing out on his own, which is what he wanted to do all along anyhow. He does mention to stay tuned, because there are some fun announcements coming up on the show very soon, which undoubtedly is the truth! I am anxious to see what Tom has to say!

Lastly, don’t forget to send in video clips to Tom! Make sure that you have an adequate recording set up, and that you have a hand held microphone so that everyone can hear what you have to say! Send it in to Tom ( check his website for more information), and he just might use your tape on his show! Also, sign up for Skype , as you may have the opportunity to talk to Tom LIVE with his guests!

See….who said that Monday’s have to be all that bad? ;)

Check in tomorrow to for a recap of tonight’s show, as well as an update of tomorrow’s guest. It’s sure to be a hit!

Until tomorrow, gang! Cheers!

Predicting the Future

Friday, August 24th, 2007

WE DID IT!!! WE SURVIVED TWO WHOLE WEEKS WITHOUT TOM! Who the heck else is excited as I am that on Monday, we’ll have brand new shows over at Tom’s website???

I have missed Tom’s mustache. Seriously. It’s the year of the mustache, and dang it, we should have updates about his mustache. Oh wow…I just had a thought…what are we going to do if Tom comes back sans a mustache? It’s a 50/50 shot that he will come back with one. I think that he could grow his mustache into a long twirly -ended one, and then we can call him up and ask for Col. Mustard. Or maybe not. He may not like that. Yeah, let’s not do that. Let’s just stick to having positive shows. Positivity is what it is all about this year. Yeah….let’s keep it on the bright side! :)

Who wants to predict the future with me? I say that Tom comes back on Monday..with his mustache..and a male guest….perhaps a singer? Who knows. I am excited, though! Who wants to predict with me? Let’s have fun with this one, gang!

I hope that you all have a great weekend!!! Check back here on Monday for a brand new update on that day’s guest! I can’t wait to see if I am right! :)

TGIF, gang! Until next time…Peace!

Who’s Your Daddy?

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Happy Thursday, all!

We’re almost thru the week, and into a new week of web-o-vision shows! Gotta love it! Today’s topic is certianly a curious one, but trust me, it’s all good. ;) I am wondering who you all have loved seeing on the show so far. Who has been your favorite performer on the show, be it with a music act or a celebrity? There are a few great ones, whom I have already mentioned before ( Kat Von D and Pamela Anderson). I have failed to mention another personal favorite, Ross Mathews! He has been Ross “the Intern” Mathews on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno for well over 5 years. You all have seen Tom as a correspondant on the Tonight Show with Ross before. Why do I love Ross so much? Because I have followed him over at his blog for well over a year now. He updates it daily, and I don’t think that there is a day yet when he has not blogged! He has really made it his life to interact with his friends and fans, which is a feature that I love about Tom as well.

ross.jpg
Ross Mathews before “Celebrity Fit Club”.

Tell me all about your favorite guest so far. Why are they your favorite guest? What do you wish that they could have added to the interview, or did you think that it was the best interview yet? I know that there are still many great celebrities that are to come on Tom’s show - it’s just a matter of time before they are on there! Keep your hopes up gang…the game is still young for Tom’s web-o-vision! :)

Until manana, peeps! Peace!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Happy Humpday all! We’re halfway thru the week today, and I know that we are all already looking forward to the weekend, right? ;)

Today’s blog is aptly titled Monkey See, Monkey Do, in honor of Melissa Rivers, who was a past guest on Tom Green’s show. During the show, she talked about sea monkey’s, and how she is growing them for her son. Am I the only one who did not know that sea monkey’s were really little brine? Who knew? LOL I am curious as to what you all had played with growing up when you were young. Did anyone have sea monkey’s to play with? I remember playing with jumping beans, which, to this day, still really freak me out. ;) A Barrel of Monkey’s was always fun too, but I think that my mom would sometimes let me win on purpose so she could quit playing with me. Hey, even I’ve pulled that one on my younger sisters! Who hasn’t? LOL

You all can check out the episode with Melissa Rivers over in the “On Demand” section at Tom’s website. While you are there, take a few minutes to e-mail Tom and tell him how much you really like him, and who all you want to see on the show! He is always open for suggestions on the show!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone! Until tomorrow!

Peace!

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Happy Tuesday, all!

One day down, four more to go! Why is it that we always count down to the weekend, even at the beginning of the week? ;)

Today we’re going to look back at Tom’s career. There have been some great movies with Tom, such as Road Trip, Freddy Got Fingered, and Stealing Harvard. My personal favs have been all three! LOL Which of Tom’s movies did you like the most? Which ones did you think were so-so? Tell us about it in the comment section! I wanna know! :)

Please keep checking back for contest updates, gang! I don’t want you all to think that I am teasing you with the promises of great prizes, but I am telling you, there really are some wonderful prizes in store for all of you! I want everyone to win, so you’ve gotta start participating in the comment section, ok? I know that there are lots of you that check out this blog….why don’t you leave a comment so we can all get to know one another? I’d love to meet ya!

Until tomorrow…peace! Cheers!

Thoughts about Kat Von D’s Divorce

Monday, August 20th, 2007

kat-von-d.jpgHappy Monday, gang! I hope that you all had a great weekend! We battled some more rain here in Tex-ass, and I am hoping that we aren’t slammed with the upcoming hurricane Dean. Scary stuff!

A few weeks ago, Kat Von D was on Tom’s show. I know that there are many of you who love Kat, (myself included) and were surprised to hear her talk about her divorce. Although she didn’t go into great detail, she did mention that she was getting a divorce, and simply trying to find a place for herself and focus solely on her new tattoo shop, High Voltage , which is featured on the TLC show “LA Ink”. So, I am curious…what do you all think about celebrities “telling all” when it comes to their relationships. I have to admit that I am always curious as to what happened in the relationship as to why it went sour, BUT I TOTALLY respect a celebrity like Kat when they do not go into great detail about their break up. I mean, who would really want all of their skeletons from the closet available for everyone to know about? I know that I wouldn’t. In all honesty, I really feel for her. She seemed vulnerable to me while she was on Tom’s show…sort of like she was wishing for a prince charming to come and sweep her off of her feet. She mentioned a friend who wears their heart on their sleeve, and she said that she wished that she could do that. From personal experience, wearing your heart on your sleeve isn’t always the best thing to do, ya know?

I am curious as to what you all think about celebrities and divorce and breakups. We all know about Tom Green and Drew Barrymore , and now Kat and Oliver. What do you all think? Do you think that celebrities are already in the spot light and should tell all anyhow, or do you think that they are entitled to their own privacy in their lives. I already shared my opinion - now share yours!

We are 4 (week) days away from Tom returning! Who do you want to see as a guest on his show? Tell us about it here, and e-mail Tom over at his website, www.tomgreen.com. I am looking forward to what you all have to share! :)

Until tomorrow…peace!

Freddy Got Fingered..and Told

Friday, August 17th, 2007

T-G-I-FRICKEN’-F, gang! My ISP has let me down royaly today, as I have been without DSL for over 24 hours now. I am on the (t)rusty old dial up, but hey, whatever works, right? Sorry that today’s post is so dang late! Trust me, I am not too happy about it all either… ;)

One week down, one week to go until Tom Green comes back from vacation with fresh new guests and ideas for the show. I am hoping that he tweaked a few things ( like perhaps a better phone screener, but then again, you can never predict when someone will call in for a barrel roll! ;) )I am considering Skype for call ins…does anyone call into his show with Skype? Do you all like it?

Recently, Tom had Pamela Anderson on the show ( one of my personal favs!!). Did you all catch the program? I hope so! If you missed it, check out the “On Demand” section over at Tom’s website. Unfortunately, my computer is running too dang slow for me to upload a dang picture or a video….sit tight though, because I’ll have great clips available once my ISP decides to get their act into gear!

I hope that you all have a great weekend! For those of you that are in the path of Hurricane Dean, stay safe! Keep your fingers crossed in the hopes that I am in the land of DSL again very soon!

Until next time! Peace!

…And Steve-O was His Name-O

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Happy hump day all! ;)

We are halfway thru the week, and that much closer to Tom Green returning to his living room, web-o-vision, and more celebs for us to watch! In lieu of Tom’s break, I have been bringing you all clips of past interviews and celebs that Tom has had over at his house. Today’s clips is sure to bring you all some great laughs! I love Steve-O from “Jackass” and was lucky enough to see him at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota a few years ago. Stupid me, though, I didn’t realize it was him until he was long gone! But, at least I can say that I walked by him! LOL

Without further delay, here’s a clip of Steve-O on Tom’s show…please note that there is strong language in this clip! KIDS…DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, MMMK??

This is NUTS! I can say that I have seen this happen before…it involved an old microwave, a cd, and the cd being cooked in the microwave for a few minutes..let’s just say that 1)no, I was not involved in it and 2) that our apartment smelled like burnt electrical wires for a loooooooong time afterwords! LOL

Lastly, I know that there are those of you that stop by here and read the daily posts. Please take a minute or two to leave a comment and say hello! We all want to get to know you! Besides…I am beginning to get a complex! ;)

Until tomorrow…peace!

Tom tattoos Kat Von D

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Hey gang! Did everyone have a great weekend? I enjoyed the weekend with a birthday celebration ( not my own) and ate more than I should have. Eh, isn’t that the way it always goes? It’s all in good fun, though…

For the next two weeks, Tom will be on vacation, but I’ll still be bringing you favorite clips from Tom’s show! One of my favorite guests so far has been Kat Von D . This time last year, I was lucky enough to interview Kat, and I loved every minute of it! Everything that people can think about Kat is real and true…she really is the genuine deal. You can check out my interview with Kat Von D here. As many of you know, Kat was also on Tom Green’s show. I am with many of you when you say that it was one of the best interviews that Tom had so far. For those of you that missed it (by the way, where the hell were ya?) you can catch it below.

Logan is perhaps one of the luckiest guys today, right? I mean, who wouldn’t want their name tattooed on Kat Von D? What can I say gang…I love Kat…I love Tom..it’s like nirvana for me…

Please stay tuned for updates about the Peace Frogs contest (where one lucky winner can win one shirt of their choice every week). We are in the process of still working out a few of the kinks, so please stick with us on it! :)

Until tomorrow!

Peace!
